With various triathlons, swim events, floating vehicles, river races & festivals this summer, Pontoonworks have been very busy indeed, we have been involved in many of the summers major events, we have assisted our clients with optimising marketing space to providing pedestrian & vehicle access bridges.
Pontoonworks are delighted to have been asked to assist with access solutions for a local project. A quay wall has been damaged by flooding in a local town centre and using our experience and professionalism we were able to come up with a solution that fitted all the health & safety requirements as well as providing an effective work platform for our client.

Pontoonworks are always pleased to be asked to help out with the environmental projects, recently we have assisted a local authority in the North of England to install an Eel pass with our pontoon system. Jetfloat is an environmentally friendly product and is the ideal solution for any project where welfare to aquatic life is essential.

Pontoonworks has recently installed 800m2 of pontoon to form a floating work platform. This pontoon will be used to assist our client with the assembly of a geomembrane roof, when the roof is finished it will be used to contain methane gas which will then be used to power one of the UKs largest factories.

After a three year break Thorpe Park’s Bonfire Night Extravaganza made its long awaited return on 5 November. Pontoonworks floated three connected launch pads on the lake to facilitate a spectacular 12 minute display of exploding colours and light which was reflected in the water beneath.

Summer 2011 has been a busy one for the Pontoonworks team who installed numerous floating platforms and temporary bridges for both public and private events around the country. Among these were the entry and exit swim platforms for three of the UK’s largest and most prestigious triathlons held in London.

The 2011 DSEi exhibition attracted thousands of visitors and dignitaries from around the world to the ExCel centre in London’s docklands. So that they could view the latest maritime crafts and naval equipment in the water Pontoonworks installed a dedicated display jetty as well as a specially designed hovercraft landing platform.

Engineering consultants and contractors in south Wales have recently discovered the benefits of Pontoonworks innovative ideas. Working in a water filled quarry the drilling platform we provided was easily reformatted into a jetty when the client’s needs changed. An excavator pontoon and skip pontoon have been since been added to their hire inventory for a complete solution to working on water.

With space at premium during the Wimbledon tennis championships, Pontoonworks installed a floating platform on a lake for an international press conference. Former tennis rivals Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe launched their new range of underwear from our pontoon which was covered with artificial turf and huge glass canopy . Located on the Argyll coast of Scotland near the western end of the Crinan Canal much of the village’s activity focuses around the canal basin. Visitors can enjoy sailing or walking the network of trails, towpath and shoreline. In July 2011 Pontoonworks supplied 25m² of pontoon to Crinan Boatyard to extend their existing mooring pontoons.

<p>It's always nice to be recommended and even better to do something a bit different. As a sponsor at this year's Welsh Open, SAAB were able to show off two of their latest models on the lakes at Celtic Manor at the weekend.</p>

We floated over 300 “A” list celebrities, the Bolshoi Ballet and the Royal Philharmonic for a private function in London. Not only were we proud of this achievement but the event was top gossip on Peter Stringfellows Blog.
“……he had a whole ballroom built over his private lake. Now get this, apparently it took a week to build and three days to come down. Cut glass chandeliers, silk and see-through lace curtains, stages, dance floor, lighting etc. As you would expect, the dinner itself was spectacular . . . "

Pontoonworks has secured a £500K MoD contract to provide security protection and access. This was an in-depth project for our design team and detailed stress analysis was required to validate our recommendations.

We are very proud to be part of the Poole Second Opening Bridge Project – currently under construction by Hochtief. Since August last year we have provided their engineers with access for personnel, plant and equipment.

Pontoonworks is committed to achieving excellence in all that it does, and that includes our highly skilled teams.
